Tuesday Cruise. March 21st 2017

Postby lubbylegs » Sun Mar 19, 2017 2:35 pm

Hi,

Phil (Casper) has offered to lead a rather more ambitious ride (see elsewhere) but any suggestions for a steadier and shorter cruise? I'm unable to make this Tuesday.

Meet at the old clubroom lay-by, Wedgwood Avenue, Westlands for 9.45am start.

Thanks,

Dave S.

I hope to be out for the more leisurely Tuesday Cruise. Happy to lead or be lead. Not been to Hopley House recently, so that is an option, but to be honest, happy to go anywhere.

I'll be out on Tuesday. Not sure whether to do Hopley House or Teggs Nose. Will decide when I get there. Thanks to those organising routes. Mike

I shall not be able to make the Old Club House after all. I had missed the fact that my wife has commitments first thing.

If it is decided that Hopley House is the destination and you all come Black Bank/Alsager's Bank, I can join you in Audley at about 10.10am

If you come Keele Bank way, I can meet at Betley at around 10.10am

If it is decided to go somewhere else, no problem.

Just let me know tomorrow.

hi Dave, my route takes on Black Bank, then i will be going right past Miles Green and along Boon Hill Rd. we can all ride out together to Miles Green then i can send your group left and towards a meeting place of your choice in Audley.

Thanks Phil

If the traditional Tuesday Cruisers ( and I am struggling to think of a collective noun ) do decide to do Hopley House, then your suggested starting route would work.

From Audley I would advocate going to Alsager, Towards Hassall, Weelock, Elworth and through the lanes to Wimboldsley and the cafe.

Let's bsee what tomorrow brings in respectbif weather, numbers, etc.

I did mention Grasslands as an option and Dave C is brushing up on his Polish to be able to order cake from the lovely ladies there.

Grasslands is about 60miles round trip from Wedgewood Avenue, but I did suggest that we could start it from our place, where we have plenty of parking, which would reduce ride by 15-16 miles or Alsager Cross Roads where there is again free parking and this would take another 12 miles off the total.

There are other great destinations if we adopted the above idea occasionally - Whitgate Station, Walk Mill, Fairlawns Garden Centre.

I am NOT OUT NEXT WEEK because I have to take my wife to Oswestry.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the above ideas?

Hi Dave I like the idea of still fairly local drive rides we could still meet in Wedgewood ave.,and load up so as to take fewer cars, i could take an extra 2 for example.
