Dukinfield C.C. Open '50' Sat May 6th 2017

Postby lubbylegs » Tue Apr 18, 2017 5:59 pm

Hi,

One or two Lymies have expressed an interest in the Dukinfield '50' so I thought I'd give details.

Entries to: Seve Holt, Cemar, Buxton Road, High Lane, Stockport, SK6 8AY

Entries close: Tuesday April 25th 2017

Entry fee: £8.50.

First rider off at 4.01pm.

Next day is the Douglas McMillan Charity Ride which shouldn't cause any problem. :)

Thanks,

Dave S.

Hi Ade and Thom,

See you,

Hi,

John Bud and Pat S. have both now entered.

Entries close tomorrow so still time. Especially for those clever enough able to enter on-line :)

Another event over-subscribed. :(

Can't remember a local '50' having to return entries before.

So Pat S, John B. and I won't be riding. Disappointing especially as it is a Cheshire Points Series event.

Just to bore everyone, I rode the Dukinfield '50' on May 1st 1966 and recorded a P.B. at the time of 2.19.28. Come to think of it I never went much faster after that.

It makes a bit of a nonsense of the Cheshire Points Series when an age group winner gets their entry back. As the series was established to encourage people to ride the slow Cheshire course perhaps it is a victim of its own success. There are three reserves, I wonder why they didn’t go to 15 reserves or did you not tick the box?

Agree Ade, it is a problem for the Cheshire Points.

Actually I didn't tick the reserve box. (Never thought there would be a need to on a local '50'.) But the organiser was very accommodating and offered to accept me as a reserve. But with a full field and a 4pm start I could possibly have been finishing in the dark. :(

See you,

Dave S.
