Sunday 15th July Normal Ride

Postby Neil-C » Sat Jul 15, 2017 4:53 pm

Sorry for the late post.

With light rain predicted until 12, how about Haughton Ice Cream Farm

Not too far if it is wet, if dry and people fancy it we could try the Spiders Web instead.

Meet at QG for a 9am start.

A very wet start leaving the house at 8.40am, with the rain dying off at 9am. 7 riders set out towards Stone and pretty much all morning the rain came and went. Got to the cafe at Haughton in a fast time due to a tail wind, and because of the rain the cafe was empty apart from two cyclists. Settled in to oatcakes and coffee, and watched the rain return.

The return journey was another wet ride with a head wind home.

All in all a speedy and wet ride.

Home before 1pm and just in time to watch Le Tour and wash the bike.

Cheers English weather.

Thanks again to Neil for the Haughton ride. weather a bit mizzly but not too bad and quite fast all considered. Nice to finish on Hanchurch hill just to add a bit of grit and as John Moll said back in time to watch the TdF.
