Short and Steady Ride Sunday 13th August 2017

Postby lubbylegs » Sat Aug 12, 2017 9:45 am

Hi,

I've been daft enough to enter the Congleton C.C. Open '50' this afternoon, so if anyone fancies it how about a short and steady ride to Fletchers tomorrow?

Meet at the old clubroom lay-by, Wedgwood Ave, Westlands for 9.30am departure.

Thanks,

Dave S.

Hi Dave,

new watering hole in Eccleshall The Little George Hotel, situated right on the crossroads. Ultra swish, trendy and brand new interior. According to the menu board they do breakfasts and sandwiches etc, you can even get a pint or glass of vino. Cyclists are welcome and if you arrive covered in mud they'll hose you down and sit you down.

Loads of seating inside and out. Open 7 days a week 8-4 pm and 11-6 pm Sunday

Hope to join you but don't wait if I'm late.

Hi,

A steady, but at times quite hilly ride yesterday.

Five of us out, Alan H., Ian Webb., Neale.,John Bud.,and me. Through Butterton and then the triple climb to the top of Hanchurch Woods. Then Hill Chorlton, Maer and Standon. Turned right down Chatcull Lane and past the house struck by lightning during Paul Lowe's recent Cruise. Then to Fletchers for good food. Nice to have Dave C meet up with us at the cafe.

A little detour led by Neale through Chebsey and then Norton Bridge, Swynnerton and Beech to home.

Just 39 miles door to door.

Thanks,

Dave S.
